Monster Mania 2007

A monstrously good weekend! If you like big trucks, action and noise this is the event for you. The annual monster truck racing event comes to The Hop Farm on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August when 6 of the massive beasts take each other on and race against the clock. Each race involves a nail biting two jumps, speeding around a 180-degree hairpin turn and over a final obstacle to cross the finish line.
Choose your favourite truck at the start of the day and get ready to do some screaming to cheer on your truck and driver. Fingers crossed the truck doesn’t break down or get stuck when crushing those cars!
Monster trucks weigh in at a massive 5 tonnes each, are 12ft wide, 10ft tall and 18 –20ft long. Each have over 1000 horsepower, many around 1500 – or the equivalent of 2 and a bit Formula One cars!!

All the trucks are fully MTRAE (Monster Truck Racing Association Europe) certified and driven by a MTRAE certified driver. You can even experience the thrill up close and get to meet with all the drivers and trucks at the VIP pit parties each morning. Tickets for the pit parties are bookable in advance at £5pp.

Between racing and car crushing there’s loads more to keep the family entertained. A funfair and action packed motocross freestyle shows will be performing their awesome airbourne stunts and there’s even a beer tent for dads. This is one for the whole family. There’ll also be loads of trade and promotional stands where you can buy Monster Mania merchandise.

To end the day on a real high each driver and truck goes out into the arena and tries to impress the fans the most with speed, huge air jumps and a variety of stunts

Book tickets in advance at www.thehopfarm.co.uk and receive a free Monster Mania yearbook.

FIREWORKS PARTY AT THE HOP FARM

Celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with two sensational firework displays and family fun at The Hop Farm Country Park on Saturday 3 November. The displays will be synchronised with some of the best sporting theme tunes we associate with great moments in sporting history.
A display specifically for children will take place earlier in the evening at 5pm with colourful fireworks but less noisy bangs for sensitive little ears. There’s also an indoor children’s area with free face painting and firework and sports related make and take activities involving lots of glue, glitter and colour.
The main display takes off at 8pm, lasting around 20 – 25 minutes using a massive 10,000lb of explosives. Make a night of it and enjoy the live music courtesy of KMFM – the best music variety.
Regularly attended by 10,000 visitors The Hop Farm’s fireworks party is easily one of the best in the South East.
Combined with the usual Hop Farm attractions such as indoor and outdoor play areas, Shire Horses and animal farm, this event is great day out for the whole family.
