Sporting Clubs and Associations sign up for Sports 4 All at The Hop Farm

The Hop Farm has joined forces with KOS Media and Persil to present the best of Kent’s sporting clubs and activities. Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th will see The Hop Farm transformed into a sporting haven for all ages and levels of fitness. The fantastic news is that over 25 sporting clubs and associations have signed up to participate in this year’s brand new sporting event.

Supported by the Kent Sports Development Unit, the people of Kent will be encouraged to take up a new sport or pick up a sport they have participated in previously. Event Manager Karen McCaughan comments “With the constant media attention on obesity and maintaining a healthy lifestyle most of us know we should be more active but it isn’t easy to find an activity that we enjoy and fits in with a hectic lifestyle. I’m sure visitors will be amazed by the diverse range of sporting experiences available locally. Whether it’s golf, tennis, rambling or martial arts that’s your thing we plan to give you a chance to try it out and locate your nearest activity centre or club.”

The event will feature a huge raft of sporting clubs and associations with the likes of Cycle UK, Invicta Valiants, KIXX Martial Arts, The Weald of Kent Gymnastics Club and many more. Have-a-go activities will include the impressive 8m high Mont Blanc climbing wall and the chance to watch all day competitions including a Kent Polocrosse tournament. We’ll also be featuring sports from the mainstream to the more unusual including the daredevil of the BMX riders from BADBMX, the amazing skills of the London Wheelchair Rugby Club plus new sports such as Rock-it-Ball and Dodgeball. Or for those who want to save their energy for later most clubs and associations will be on hand to offer skills tuition or taster sessions.

With 400 acres of flat land in the heart of the Kent countryside, there’s no better place to showcase the county’s best sporting activities than The Hop Farm.

Persil will be sponsoring the event, as part of a series of family events across the UK. A chance to have fun, get active and get dirty together! No need to worry about dirt it's all part of learning and Persil's brilliant cleaning performance will get your clothes clean. Visit www.persil.com for more details. Persil will be giving out various goodies at the event!
